The Grand Bahamas: Freeport with its "beach getaway" vibes...

When I first arrived in Freeport, I didn't know what to expect...

Everyone knows Nassau isn't it?

the capital, as well as the commercial and cultural center, of the Bahamas, located on the island of New Providence, well known also for its  popular port of call for many cruise lines.

Freeport is a free port in the district of the Bahamas, a city located in the western part of the island of Grand Bahama, a city about 65 km from the capital Nassau.

It is the second largest city in the Bahamas located in the northwestern part of the island of Grand Bahama, about 65 km from the capital Nassau. Here multiculturalism reigns supreme: African-Americans, Caribbeans and natives of the destination with the presence of Europeans. The main feature of Freeport is a great tourist offer with a rich prospect of recreational activities, including fishing, snorkeling, diving, trekking, golf , cruises, kayaks...

It represents a wide range of hospitality, resorts, restaurants, shops and tourist attractions, with the production of tobacco, cocoa, bananas, wheat, soya, sugar...

The vast marine life and the naturally tropical climate offer locals and visitors plenty of daily dynamism, numerous attractions, services and traditional enrichments.

Also in Freeport you can enjoy a relaxing day with friends and families on beaches like this in my video ...

...A Day passes with crystal  water activities including snorkeling and kayaking..A typical Beach Getaway...

I also enjoyed the traditional Bahamian lunch with fried fish, rice, beans, conch fritters, beef ribs, quesadillas, steamed vegetables… and more. What certainly unites the entire destination are the breathtaking views of the beach while you order a Bahamian beer or a fruity cocktail,or enjoying a sampling of conch fritters, chicken curry, grilled Swai fish and pineapple tarts.
